Perform non-supervisory engineering analysis and design of new and modified components in accordance with engineering standards and project scope to ensure designs meet customer requirements and corporate objectives.


  • Perform job duties in an ethical, professional manner which is consistent with the Oshkosh Way. Conduct duties consistent with the Company’s mission statement, quality objectives, and defined policies and procedures
  • Provide technical assistance for service requests, product development, and production support
  • Researches, studies, and proposes use of new technologies to be used in the development of new and improved products
  • Proper use of engineering criteria and drawing standards. Ensure that technical issues are conducted within the framework of company policies and procedures
  • Perform engineering analysis to support the selection of parts, components, and materials that meet requirements
  • Configure components and assemblies to meet customer specifications
  • Prepare plumbing layouts, drawings, specifications, and bills of material
  • Evaluate designs for performance, safety, and reliability
  • Maintain effective communication with suppliers, internal and external customers, and outside resources concerning technical issues
  • Analyze and resolve issues reported to Engineering via verbal or written communication
  • Work in a cross functional team of designers and drafters regarding engineering analysis
  • Establish priorities for work delegated to others
  • Prepare technical proposals, quotations, reports, and presentations
  • Able to obtain a secret security clearance as required by job duties
  • Create pump specifications based on customer performance requirements
  • Design and develop hydraulic schematics, system layouts, and stainless pipe weldments
  • Work with chassis engineers to develop driveline layouts and pump house configurations
  • Support manufacturing through welding, assembly, and performance testing of fluid power systems


    • Bachelors of Science in Engineering
    • 3-plus years related experience


    • Experience with CATIA V5
    • Experience with Medusa a plus
    • Experience with MRP systems
    • Experience configuring products with low volume/high number of options
    • Experience with structural engineering concepts, fluid power experience a plus
    • Experience working with heavy duty vehicles and body design
    • Possess a strong mechanical knowledge of vehicles and related systems
    • Strong verbal presentation and written communication skills
    • Excellent time management and organizational skills
